18K Yellow Gold Concave Round QU'HIER QUE DEMAIN Augis Pendant
A highly sought after QU'HIER QUE DEMAIN pendant in 18K solid gold that will be a wonderful addition to your collection!
The text reads "qu'hier que demain" and translates to "More than yesterday less than tomorrow" from a famous poem by Rosemonde Gerard she penned in 1889 for her husband.
It has a textured brushed background with the text polished and raised.
It is concave with the back surface blank and perfect for engraving initials or a date.
This piece is by Alphonse Augis, a French jeweler from Lyon, with A.A. maker's mark that is legible on the front of pendant and also the French eagle's head and Augis Makers Mark on the hinge.
The first medals were made from 1907, this one is around 1970/80. It is in very good condition.
