The scarab (kheper) beetle was one of the most popular amulets in ancient Egypt because the insect was linked with the god Khepri and associated with the gods Atum and the sun god Re, who brought the sunrise over the horizon each day.
The motif refers variously to the ideas of existence, manifestation, development, growth, and effectiveness, and was a symbol of rebirth, regeneration, and protection in the afterlife and the earliest scarab amulets appeared in the First Intermediate Period (ca. 2124 B.C.).

This Scarab Pendant is crafted from 18K Yellow Gold, with a large scarab atop an oval disc. The back of the oval disc is inscribed with text usually for good luck.
