Vintage 14K Yellow Gold Aquamarine Ring

A gorgeous single stone oval faceted aquamarine ring set in 14K Yellow Gold in a 6 prong setting with a minimal buttercup border that is designed to show off the aquamarine beautifully. The aquamarine is the colour of the ocean, with a watery, light blue hue and its name comes from the Latin words "aqua" for "water" and "marina" for "of the sea."
Aquamarine it has been used in jewelry since at least 500 BC and still enchants us today.

I enjoy Pliny the Elder's (23 AD - 79 AD) description of Aquamarines: "The lovely Aquamarine, which seems to have come from some mermaid's treasure house, in the depths of the summer sea, has charms not to be denied".
